SS Heyneman Foundation prefers to make project specific grants, but also makes general operating grants on occasion.
The Foundation’s purpose is to support qualified charities focusing in the humanities, education, the environment, or the performing and fine arts.
All grant applications will be reviewed and approved by our Board of Trustees. Applicants are encouraged to reach out to our Director with questions. Small operating grants (under $5k) are awarded primarily in the Fall cycle in Stillwater and Yellowstone County, Montana, and Sheridan County, Wyoming. Larger requests may be submitted in either Fall of Spring and are thoroughly reviewed. We generally do not fund more than 20% of an individual project.
We operate within a Spring and a Fall grant cycle. The Spring deadline is April 15 with grants awarded in May; the Fall deadline is September 30th with grants awarded in October.
